10+2 Update
Many software providers are updating their solutions to handle 10+2 regulatory compliance, formally known as the Importer Security Filing and Additional Carrier Requirements, effective January 26, which mandates that apparel and textile importers submit Importer Security Filings (ISF) to U.S. Customs and Border Protection at least 24 hours before goods are loaded on a U.S. bound vessel.
A few recent updates include:
Centric, which provides enterprise PLM designed for apparel, footwear, accessory and other consumer goods and private-label industries, has updated its Centric 8 solution to integrate 10+2 requirements.
As a result, every one of Centric's customers involved in global sourcing is capable of achieving full compliance with 10+2 mandates, according to Ray Hein, Centric's executive vice president of marketing.
The company reports that users can quickly view 10+2 information and other sourcing data including supplier performance, compliance and other vital metrics. Instead of manipulating individual pieces of data across a global supply chain, Centric 8 manages and reports the 10 data elements needed to create the ISF.
Citing AMR Research that "cost estimates for importers and carriers associated with the implementation, ongoing operation, and possible supply chain disruptions of the [10+2] regulation range up to $4.4 billion over a 10-year window," ecVision notes that its XpressCommerce PLM and supply chain execution solution allows businesses to comply with 10+2 requirements by enabling importers and their supply chain partners to capture the necessary information and channel it quickly to the responsible parties in a secure environment.
XpressCommerce can track the production of goods, schedule quality inspections, maintain a library of customs and compliance documents, generate shipping documents and track the movement of goods to the final destination. Accurate transaction and shipment data is streamed in real time to meet the potential requirements of 10+2 through strong data consolidation capabilities inherent to the system.
Supply chain logistics provider Freightgate has been working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection to develop Importer Security Filing software known as Compliance-Trek!
The company says that the Compliance-Trek! SaaS software reduces supply chain administrative costs and improves supply chain processes and logistics control, that it can be easily integrated into your other systems and is embedded with RDV (Role Dependent View) technology.
The company reports that, in addition to Importer Security Filing compliance, Freightgate can assist apparel and textile importers with Global Tender Management to secure competitive pricing from air and ocean carriers.
Globe Express Services Ltd., global third-party logistics (3PL) provider and Customhouse broker, has launched a new ISF Filer Service designed to address 10+2 compliance.
Recognizing its ideal positioning - the forwarder/consolidator is closest to overseas vendors and factories, and can thus easily provide importers' ISF data to customs - Globe Express Services (GES) developed what it says is a robust filing service, complete with specialized software and electronic linkages to U.S. Customs.
