Preparation is Key to Disaster Recovery
Retail supply chains will continue to feel the aftermath of the Gulf Coast hurricanes for months, possibly years. In addition to the impact on ports and transportation, supply chains also are being strained. Inventory forecasting and replenishment, already complex processes, have become even more complicated in areas directly impacted by the storms as well as in surrounding areas that received a majority of displaced hurricane victims. As retailers recover, it is clear that preparation and communication are critical to enduring such disasters.
