Aeropostale Closes Its Jimmy'Z Concept

Aeropostale, the mall-based specialty retailer of casual and active apparel for young women and men, announced it is ending its Jimmy'Z concept and closing all of its 11 Jimmy'Z stores in the company's second quarter of fiscal 2009.

The company said discontinuing the business would enable it to focus on growth within the core Aeropostale business and  facilitate it with rolling out its next U.S. retail concept, which it says will target a younger demographic.

Aeropostale currently operates 875 Aeropostale stores in 48 states and Puerto Rico and 29 more in Canada.
