An April Wall Street Journal article by Geoffrey Fowler discussed designer Philippe Starck's plans to identify potentially hot brands in China, and help Chinese manufacturers to become brand manufacturers in their own right, instead of producers of merchandise with Western logos. "Asian manufacturers are the real companies of the future," Starck told the newspaper. "They have almost all the parameters to become brands GÇö they just don't know how to do it."
