Avery Dennison Introduces Distressed Patent Leather Patches to Jeans Market
Manufacturers of upscale jeans can now add an innovative form of brand distinction to their garments with new distressed patent leather patches from Avery Dennison.
The patches are available debossed, milled, hand-burnished, crinkled or hand-sanded to provide a distressed appearance. According to Avery Dennison, graphics can be applied via several processes, including foil and inking options.
Avery Dennison reports that the new distressed patent leather patches were developed in response to demand for creative ways to brand upscale jeans, particularly in the fast-growing women's and juniors markets, as well as in response to a resurgence of interest in patent leather in recent years.
By processing patent leather in a variety of new ways, Avery Dennison says its new fashionable line of patches complements the stylish denim of high-end jeans, and offers brands a way to more prominently distinguish their garments as "premium products," offering the potential of higher margins.
The patches are available in a large variety of styles, leather materials, color variations, configurations and highlighting options. (One new product, for instance, is constructed of milled patent leather, with foiled debossing and ink splatter. Another is stamped with purple dye and purple foil. Both are hand burnished to create the distressed effect.)
Avery Dennison reports that delivery time is generally four weeks from the receipt of an order and that while finished patches from bulk production will be similar, no two are identical.
