Best Buy Debuts Wedding Registry

Best Buy, the nation's largest consumer electronics chain, launched its wedding registry, catering to couples interested in the latest devices, from flat-panel TVs to Apple iPads. The site,, will be added to the retailer's mobile app next week. By early April, kiosks will be installed across the retailer's 1,000-plus U.S. stores, allowing customers to check registries and print shopping lists.
For customers looking to contribute to larger items such as tablets, a group gifting option will be available, as well as free shipping on all gifts with no minimum purchase. Couples will also have the option of syncing registries with sites such as and The retailer is in search of new ways to increase sales and become more relevant to shoppers – especially those in their 20s and 30s. "Electronics and small appliances are as important to today's newlyweds as silverware and towels," said Wendy Fritz, Best Buy's head of gift strategy.
