Best Buy Increases Online Offerings 33%

9/8/2011
Best Buy is expanding its online shopping experience by partnering with third-party sellers to launch a new online Marketplace that provides a broader selection of products and brands and complements the existing online offering. With the addition of the new Marketplace sellers, Best Buy will add 33% more products online for the holiday season.

"Best Buy Marketplace is a key development to our multi-channel platform," says Brian J. Dunn, CEO of Best Buy. "As we continue to grow our online business, Best Buy Marketplace is an element that enables consumers to shop how they want and encourages additional reasons to visit and purchase at BestBuy.com."

Shoppers will continue to enjoy a seamless online shopping experience, maintaining a single shopping cart and checkout process for all sellers. Each seller handles shipment and returns. Items purchased from Marketplace sellers will also earn Best Buy Reward Zone points for buyers.

Best Buy will add more third-part sellers to the Marketplace as it continues to evaluate sellers against a set of standards including tenure, overall customer satisfaction, order cancellation history and back order history.
