BuildDirect's Analytics Fueled Supply Chain

4/26/2016
The supply chain market is moving fast. With the explosion of choice and information, it’s no longer sufficient to benchmark the best in industry and innovate to where they are now — we need to be able to predict where they will be tomorrow. To predict demand, and build a scalable system to deliver this demand to customers, we must innovate to where the market is going.

At the 2016 Retail and Consumer Goods Analytics Summit (RCAS), Joseph Thompson, vice president, marketing & growth, BuildDirect Technologies will explore how to ruthlessly cut out the clutter from the supply chain, the importance of capturing the customer data signal at each step, and how to build to a future without free shipping.

Thompson is an e-commerce and innovation executive, with over 15 years in leadership positions at Amazon and Procter & Gamble. He has extensive experience operating end-to-end businesses and leading organizations across companies and cultures in Asia, North America, South America, and Europe. At BuildDirect Thompson sits on the executive committee, and oversees growth, brand, digital marketing, sales, business development, public relations, communications, merchandising, design and investor relations.

Prior to joining BuildDirect, Joseph was the general manager of retail at Amazon, leading two US retail divisions based in Seattle. In this role, he was responsible for delivering aggressive P&L and free cash flow growth targets, building and leading an analytical high performance team, managing supply chain/operations, pricing systems, maintaining PC and mobile site architecture and browse structure, and overseeing partnerships with over 2,500 vendors.

The 2016 Retail and Consumer Goods Analytics Summit will be held May 4-6 at The Drake Hotel, Chicago, Illinois. The conference will feature keynotes from retail and consumer goods leaders, peer-to-peer exchanges, networking opportunities and relationship building.
