Carlo Pochintesta Named Barnes & Noble CIO

Barnes & Noble has named Carlo Pochintesta as its new chief information officer. Pochintesta joins the retailer from Rag & Bone Holdings, where he also served as CIO.

“We are so pleased to welcome Carlo to Barnes & Noble, who brings with him decades of leadership in information technology at some of the country’s most respected retailers,” said CFO Allen Lindstrom. “His long and successful track record of innovation in information technology in the retail industry, particularly in the areas of merchandising and supply chain, make him a great fit for our company.”

Pochintesta has more than 25 years of experience managing IT for multi-billion-dollar businesses across the retail industry, including Rag & Bone, Steve Madden, Gucci America, and Ann Taylor. As CIO of Rag & Bone, he led all aspects of the company’s technology enterprise, including IT strategy, budget planning, capital investments, and performance measurement.

At Barnes & Noble, Pochintesta will be responsible for information technology, telecommunication networks and computer systems, as well as evaluating the retailer’s overall technology resources and strategies.
