Changes Coming to Target's App
Target is planning to simplify things for its customers by moving its Cartwheel savings app into the main Target app this summer. The retailer will soon begin inviting Cartwheel app users to switch over to the Target app.
Shoppers can already access Cartwheel deals with the Target app and the retailer plans more improvements to come. For example, the app’s store map will soon show guests their location as they shop and highlight Cartwheel deals nearby. Target also plans to add mobile payment for Target REDcard holders. When this happens, shoppers will be able to get Cartwheel deals and get an additional 5% off everything they buy with their REDcard.
According to Target, customer feedback fueled the switch. Target VP of Digital Product, Sean Murphy, wrote in a blog. "We’ve heard one thing loud and clear from guests: 'Keep making it easier.'" The retailer will do that by giving shoppers one place instead of two where they can map out store trips, get Cartwheel deals on in-store purchases, and make online purchases.
"Millions of guests count on us every day," said Murphy. "No matter how those guests choose to shop, whether it’s browsing Target.com or using the app to find an item in a store, it’s crucial that we listen to their needs and stay focused on them."
