Cole Haan Snags J.Crew Exec as Women's Creative Director

Cole Haan has appointed Tom Mora as creative director of women's & licensed product, effective immediately.

"We are delighted Tom Mora has joined Cole Haan in this new leadership role. His unique understanding of how iconic American brands integrate with the world of fashion in a genuine way will bring a level of seasoned expertise that will help continue the spectacular growth of Cole Haan in the marketplace," said Jack Boys, CEO of Cole Haan.

Mora brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served most recently as senior vice president of women's design at J. Crew, where he worked in a series of women's design roles since 2001. He has a respected vision for creating beautiful and elegant products for the women's marketplace. His work at Cole Haan will touch women's footwear, handbags, outerwear and accessories in addition to advertising and visual presentation.

"I am thrilled to be joining one of the strongest American brands in the marketplace that is bridging technology and innovation with classic style. It is an exciting opportunity to be able to bring my women's fashion design experience to the Cole Haan product line while expanding the core of their DNA," said Mora.

In addition to his 14 years with J. Crew, Mora spent four years with Coach and six years with Ralph Lauren in women's design roles. He holds a BFA in fashion design from Parsons School of Design.

Since 1928, the Cole Haan name has been synonymous with quality, craftsmanship and vision. In February of 2013, Apax Partners acquired Cole Haan, making it privately owned for the first time in 25 years. As a great American brand, Cole Haan believes in the importance of substance and craft, style and innovation. With this, Cole Haan has continued to expand domestically in category and internationally through best-in-class partners and distribution agreements.
