Crocs Deploys Centric to Manage Product Development Worldwide

7/3/2013
Crocs will deploy a product lifecycle management solution from Centric to manage its development processes worldwide, including concept, design and sourcing. The footwear retailer will implement the full Centric 8 PLM suite, integrating the solution with its SAP enterprise software, according to Crocs chief product officer Dale Bathum.

As part of the implementation, Crocs will use two mobile apps that bring corporate and retail buyers into the product development process. The Collection Book for Fashion iPad app allows Crocs to link its footwear collections in the PLM system to buyers in the showroom through an interactive mobile device. The Capture It for iPhone app lets Crocs users take and upload photos directly to the PLM system, making them instantly available for review, mark-up and analysis.

The software will help Crocs make product "go/no-go" decisions, determining whether to move ahead with a product while it is still in the development cycle. The company can continually re-evaluate and validate decisions based on changing cost and product inputs, said Bathum.
