E-Com's Immersion Into the Store
During the 2012 holidays 48 million shoppers showroomed, spending $68 billion. Retailers are redoubling their commitment to embracing and enabling mobile shoppers' online inside shopping patterns. A decade after e-commerce abstracted the paths to purchase from the store, 2013 marks a turning point – the immersion of e-commerce into the store.
Greg Girard, program director of merchandising and marketing strategies for IDC Retail Insights, will discuss the rebirth of the store as an essential omnichannel asset during his Shop Talk session "Showrooming and the Renaissance of the Store" on Thursday, June 20 at the 2013 Retail Executive Summit.
