Eco-Fashion Pioneer Marci Zaroff to Headline Executive Forum

8/22/2007

COLUMBIA, SC -- July 9, 2007 -- Marci Zaroff, Founder and President of contemporary women's eco-fashion company Under the Canopy, will be the opening keynote speaker for the 7th Annual Apparel Executive Forum, set for October 7-9, 2007, at the Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne, FL.

Zaroff is an internationally recognized pioneer in the world of organic fiber fashion, responsible for bringing eco-fashion into the "new mainstream" and demonstrating that quality, great fit, style, comfort, purity, luxury and modern aesthetics can co-exist profitably with social and environmental responsibility.

Her presentation will focus on how her company has achieved significant success through the use of sustainable practices, including the use of organic fibers and fabrics. She will discuss the challenges and benefits of going "green" as well as the compromises that are inherent in producing apparel that is both sustainable and fashion forward. Additionally, she will provide tips on how to develop a sustainable supply chain, including some small but significant beginning steps toward embracing more earth-friendly -- and profitable -- practices.

Zaroff is a highly respected expert and lecturer in the areas of organic food and fiber and has been involved in the natural products industry for more than 18 years. Previously, she served as publisher and chief editor of Macrocosm Magazine, a national wellness publication, and she is also the founder of Sierra Natural Resources, an international exporter of natural products and services. She is featured regularly on national TV and in print media, with appearances on NBC's "America's Talking," the TV Food Network and Barbara Walters' "The View," among others.

The Apparel Executive Forum is an invitation-only event that brings together 75 to 100 senior-level executives representing apparel retailers, brands and manufacturers.
