The mobile revolution in retail is primarily spoken of in terms of its impact on customer engagement both outside and inside the store. In 2014, while consumer facing use cases of mobility will continue to make headlines, retailers will also find ways to leverage the advances in mobile technologies towards more operational use cases such as workforce management, inventory management and enterprise dashboards. As a manpower heavy and people-centric industry, the communication, collaboration and productivity benefits of enterprise mobility are all the more appealing to retail. EKN conducted a survey of 150+ retailers to better understand their enterprise mobility strategies and to benchmark adoption maturity. This report lays out findings and analysis from the survey and presents prescriptive recommendations on how retailers can increase the adoption of mobility across the enterprise.
