Barbeque chain Famous Dave’s has partnered with GetSwift Technologies for new last-mile delivery logistics services.
Under the partnership, Famous Dave’s, which operates 146 restaurants in 31 states, Canada and the United Arab Emirates, will leverage GetSwift’s software platform to help meet today’s strong demand for delivery and takeout orders.
The chain will use GetSwift’s fleet management and route-optimization services in order to help its franchisees build in-house delivery operations. The tech is expected to help those franchisees simplify dispatching, tracking, and routing to reduce delivery times, increase capacity, and improve overall visibility, among other services.
“Before the pandemic, off-premise sales had been a key focus for Famous Dave’s, accounting for 50% of our revenue. The pandemic fast-tracked and amplified our off-premise efforts, and will continue to be a key strategy to our growth in the next few years,” said Al Hank, COO at BBQ Holdings, of which Famous Dave’s is a wholly owned subsidiary. “After evaluating our off-premise goals in partnership with our franchisees, we have identified GetSwift as the partner of choice to help us develop our in-house delivery operations.”
Walmart, Target, and The Home Depot, will commit to working during off-peak hours to address supply chain bottlenecks, The White House announced ahead of President Joe Biden hosting a meeting to discuss the challenges at ports across the country.
The transformation also includes the deployment of artificial-intelligence enabled forecasting and replenishment technology, an integrated transportation management system and an integrated workforce management system.
