Find Out Who's Keynoting the AAFA Executive Summit

The American Apparel & Footwear Association announced its keynote speakers for the annual AAFA Executive Summit, including special guest Governor Mitt Romney. Joining Romney as keynotes will be Todd Kahn, president, chief administrative officer and secretary of Coach, Inc., and CBS News chief White House correspondent Major Garrett. The summit will take place March 1-3 at The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C., with an Inauguration-style reception on the evening of March 2.

The AAFA Executive Summit brings together top executives from retail, apparel, footwear, and fashion accessory brands from around the globe. This year's theme, "Rebels, Influencers, & Transformers," will include insights from thought leaders representing Abercrombie & Fitch Trading Company, Birchbox, Loomia, Lululemon Athletica, New Balance Athletics, Inc., Strypes, Shopshops, TexOps, The Doneger Group, and Xcel Brands, along with journalist and author Elizabeth Cline.

"Our rapidly changing political landscape will likely affect our industry's already complex supply chains. Couple that with changing consumer demand, and we have executives who remain on edge," said Rick Helfenbein, president and CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association. "This year's agenda is designed to provide them with essential insights that will benefit their businesses, their employees, and their customers."

Governor Romney was the 2012 Republican candidate for president of the United States and a candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, having previously served as the governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007. Keynotes Kahn and Garrett bring expertise in business and politics. In his role at Coach, Kahn oversees all aspects of the international business, including supply chain, global environments, procurement, legal, distribution, real estate, facilities, IT, and global inventory. Meanwhile, Garrett has been a regular commentator on CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, and NPR, bringing more than 30 years of journalism experience covering the White House and Congress.
