Hy-Vee Names Chief Data Officer

Grocer Hy-Vee, Inc. has named Jason Buhrow the company’s chief data officer, starting April 19th.
Buhrow will oversee the development and governance of data strategy for the $11 billion retailer operating more than 275 retail stores across eight Midwestern states. Buhrow’s areas of focus also will include innovation in the area of enterprise-wide data science, analysis and visualization.

Buhrow comes to Hy-Vee after serving as business technology vice president for FBL Financial Group, Inc. He has also held technology leadership positions at RSM US LLP and Berkley Technology Service, LLC, and has significant experience in retail, insurance, finance, non-profit and manufacturing. Buhrow holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Northern Iowa. And, he serves on the board of directors for NSEF and is an advisory member for 100 Men of Norwalk.
