Independent Research Firm Recognizes TradeStone's Pioneering Approach to Optimized Business Results Applications

3/26/2008

Gloucester, Mass., March 18, 2008 -- TradeStone Software, the retail industry's leading provider of private label and global sourcing solutions, today announced the Company has been recognized as "a pioneering vendor" for its optimized business results applications in the March 2008 Forrester report, "Small App Vendors: Optimize Business Results." The report details TradeStone's methodology and approach as one of four vendors who "pulls together process components, rules engines, workflow, and analytics to help companies in a specific vertical industry address a critical business problem" with a solution that "focuses on results and performance with a significant bottom-line impact."

Forrester highlights TradeStone as a pioneer in a new category called "Dynamic Business Applications," which the firm clearly states will be a key catalyst of growth in software applications in the next eight years and has defined as "a software system that embodies a business process and is built for change, adaptable to business context, and information rich."

Forrester Analyst and lead author of the report, Andrew Bartels writes: "What drives adoption of dynamic business applications is their potential to help businesses achieve something that has eluded standard process applications -- an optimal business result--Pulled by retailer needs to manage the design and sourcing of their private label products, TradeStone created a Merchandise Lifecycle Management solution in 2007 that combines product lifecycle management modules to develop private label merchandise, global sourcing to source, compare, and select suppliers, global order management to buy, sell, and delivery merchandise, and quality management analytics to measure, test, and grade merchandise and factories--TradeStone Software has found business leaders want software that helps them achieve key business goals." The report concludes that, "smaller vendors like TradeStone are more nimble, more focused, and better positioned to get a lead" in this market.

"Being identified by a prestigious organization like Forrester for delivering optimized business results applications is a great honor," said Sue Welch, CEO of TradeStone Software. "Private label development is key to our customers and we work hard to make sure that the business process we put together is married with the best analysis, to not only help our customers succeed, but achieve radical results that make Wall Street and The City, sit up and take notice. As a leader in this industry, we pride ourselves in delivering business value to retailers and suppliers around the world."
