Infor announced the latest version of its SCM Network Design solution for manufacturers, distributors, transporters and retailers.
According to Infor, the software models the entire supply chain to evaluate redesign options for companies to optimize costs, revenue and service. The firm says the new version was developed in response to increased supply chain costs and the need to implement more carbon efficient networks.
Infor SCM Network Design incorporates sustainability criteria to enable companies to factor carbon emissions related to nodes such as plants warehouses and stores. Infor reports that the solution helps companies optimize their supply chains when they are altered by factors such as mergers, acquisitions and fluctuating fuel costs.
It can create "what-if" models that allow the organization to balance customer service, costs and carbon emissions.
