Jonathan & Fletcher Manages Apparel Design With YuniquePLM
Jonathan & Fletcher of Annecy, France, has adopted Gerber Technology’s YuniquePLM product lifecycle management software to manage the details associated with the design and development of its technical apparel lines for skiing, cycling and other sports. Georges Pessey, owner of privately-held Jonathan & Fletcher and experienced designer, says, “My team and I chose YuniquePLM because we found it to have the most comprehensive integration with Adobe Illustrator and because our designers and technical designers determined that it was easiest to use.”
Jonathan & Fletcher custom designs competition skiwear for alpine ski team champions on France, Germany, Finland, Norway and Sweden teams. The company also specializes in the development of highly technical garments for some of the world’s most recognized sports brands including Rossignol, Salomon and FILA.
Thierry Cusanno, director of Gerber’s software solutions sales in southern Europe, says, “The designs created by Jonathan & Fletcher are extremely technical and require that every aspect of the garment be defined explicitly. YuniquePLM’s tech pack functionality enables designers to communicate product details by associating detailed text to images that graphically communicate every step of the assembly process.”
In the future, Pessey plans to expand the use of YuniquePLM to enable his customers to validate fittings in the system and to dynamically select their product lines by style, color, etc. — all in their language of choice.
Jonathan & Fletcher is a long-time user of Gerber’s AccuMark pattern design, grading and marking software. “We expect to be able to take advantage of the fact that YuniquePLM 4.0 is completely integrated with AccuMark,” notes Pessey, “so we can use data and images from Gerber’s AccuMark system to populate tech packs in YuniquePLM.
The company also purchased a GERBERcutter DCS 2500 for automated material cutting which will accelerate sample making and production of made-to-measure garments for world ski champions like Maria Riesch, Jens Byggmark and JB Grange.
