Kroger Reports Steady Sales Rise

Kroger announces total sales of $16.1 billion in the second quarter of 2007, an increase of 6.6 percent from the same quarter of 2006. Identical supermarket sales increased 5.8 percent with fuel and 5.1 percent without fuel. This is the ninth consecutive quarter that Kroger has posted identical supermarket sales, excluding fuel, in excess of 3 percent. Kroger anticipates identical supermarket sales growth of 4-5 percent for the full year, excluding fuel sales.
