Lessons From the Field: IT Deployment

Despite hours upon hours of research and development and controlled testing, a new retail technology solution's true test is in the field. Having a handle on the potential setbacks and pitfalls prior to deployment can help make or break a new solution.

At the 2014 Retail Technology Conference, Randy Cucerzan, senior director of information technology at Genesco will speak on his experience in the field covering solutions, vendors, RFPs, past and current experiences with IT deployments, traps to avoid, best practices and more. The closed door merchandising strategies session is by reservation only and limited to 20 retailers. No vendors, consultants or analysts are allowed, and notes taken for the public record. The session is designed to be frank, open, private discussion about modern retail solutions. Post-event follow up will enable attendees to continue the dialogue and dig deeper into specific topics.

Cucerzan is responsible for IT support services at Genesco including user support, store POS support for 1,300 stores, and telecom support. In addition, the 16-year IT veteran manages related projects and coordinates strategic planning.

The eighth annual Retail Technology Conference will be held April 9 – 11, 2014 at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando, Florida. The conference features keynotes from retail leaders, peer-to-peer exchanges, a merchandising symposium and relationship building.
