Macy's, Best Buy, Petco Tackle Showrooming Threat

Mobile technology and well-informed, price-conscious consumers have combined to raise the "threat level" for showrooming, yet some wonder if the practice can be not only neutralized but turned into an opportunity. Executives from Macy's, Best Buy and Petco will provide their perspectives in a breakout session at the NRF Big Show on Monday, January 14 from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in Room 1E 12-13 at the Javits Center.

Macy's director of consumer insights and strategy Cheryl Berinato; Mark Williams, president of financial services for Best Buy; and Petco CIO Herman Nell will join Lydia Schulz, American Express retail industry vice president/general manager for a panel discussion on how retailers are fighting – and leveraging – showrooming. In addition, the winning team from the aspire2retail Student Challenge will present their recommendations on how retailers can best tackle this challenge.
