MAGIC, Sourcing at MAGIC Running Through Thursday

MAGIC Market Week, including Sourcing at MAGIC, runs through tomorrow in Las Vegas at The Las Vegas Convention Center and Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Show management is expecting attending retailers to purchase an average of nearly $200 million per day in order volume.

With the recent acquisition of ENK, MAGIC Market Week expands its global event portfolio, with ENK's brands joining WWDMAGIC (women's), FN PLATFORM (footwear), SOURCING, PROJECT (directional brands), THE TENTS @ Project (curated selection of innovative brands), PROJECT MVMNT (youth culture brands) and PROJECT MENS/WEAR.

Among some of the highlights and resources:
  • The MAGIC app (for iPhone, Android and all Internet-enabled phones) provides directories, contacts, timelines, floor plans, a personal agenda and more.
  • SHOP THE FLOOR is a new digital marketplace connecting the show's participating exhibiting brands and attending retailers, allowing retailers to browse brands' product in private digital showrooms, create look books and set appointments, as well as build line sheets and email order requests. The tool also provides show navigation and a note taking ability and can be extended for post-show use as well.
  • WWDMAGIC's daily fashion shows will be produced by James Campbell, with a "trend" focus daily. Shows will include looks from brands such as Catherine/ Catherine Malandrino, Eileen Fisher, Andrew Marc NY, Laundry by Sheli Segal, Johnny Was, Gorski Group and Jane Post.
  • WWDMAGIC will foster emerging design talent with two divisions of emerging designers, ready-to-wear and accessories.
  • FN PLATFORM will feature more than 1,600 men's and women's footwear labels, from emerging to established brands.
Among some of the highlights and resources specific to Sourcing at MAGIC:
  • For those new to Sourcing at MAGIC, a Sourcing 101 guide produced by apparel production manager Courtney Cady can be downloaded.
  • New countries among the 850 exhibitors are Ethiopia, Fiji, Haiti, North Korea, Mauritius, Nepal, Sweden and Zaire.
  • A "Made in LA" pavilion will again be featured.
  • Four technology providers are participating in the Sourcing Buzz Boutique: Panjiva, ShiningHub ,Texbase and [TC]2.
  • Hot spots of the show include "Sourcing from the Americas," "Focus on Fast Fashion," "Close-to-Home Duty-Free Ideas" and "Sourcing from Southeast Asia."
