Metro Extends RFID

High-end German department store Galleria Kaufhof, part of the Metro Group, implements a new item-level tagging system to address real-time inventory management in-store using technology from Checkpoint Systems, Impinj and Reva Systems. Retail merchandise tags are tracked from distribution through point-of-sale (POS) using UHF Gen 2 standards-based systems. The deployment is integrated with RFID applications such as back room inventory management, fixed and handheld readers, smart mirrors, smart shelves and RFID-enabled POS terminals that deliver efficient checkout.
