More Than a Transaction

New POS hardware and software solutions designed to be intelligent and agile are being deployed throughout retail to manage payment or full enterprise functions in a dedicated retail device.

Epson America’s multi-function POS solution, OmniLink TM-H6000IV-DT, is powerful enough to serve as an entire POS system, yet small enough to fit almost anywhere. With robust peripheral connectivity and receipt printing, the unit supports flexible POS configurations such as thin client, web POS and legacy-system integration. It offers fast, high-volume check processing and highly-accurate MICR reading.

Fujitsu’s PalmSecure vein imaging technology enables merchants to provide secure payment options, while providing an all-in-one payment system for consumers to access their electronic wallets. Registered consumers can leave their credit or debit cards at home and simply scan their palm for payment at the POS — each scan is encrypted. The sensors use a near-infrared light to capture a user’s palm vein pattern, generating a unique biometric template that is matched against vein patterns of pre-registered users.

Infinea BluePad, a mobile payment solution from Infinite Peripherals, features a tactile keypad with 10 numeric and six functional keys, a contact chip smart card reader, and a magnetic stripe reader with Bluetooth connectivity. Compatible with iOS and Android, units can operate as either a stand-alone mobile
POS device or as a companion to the company’s mobile peripheral devices.

Epicor’s Retail Store Windows 8 Tablet Edition is a comprehensive mobile POS that improves the customer experience while streamlining backend operations to reduce costs and increase efficiency. The software gives sales associates access to pertinent customer information from anywhere in the store, arming them with CRM loyalty info, product info, up selling and cross-selling information, reviews and ratings, among other data.
