2016 is about to become nothing more than a memory. This time of year is all about refection, and before the corks are popped on New Year’s Eve and the calendar officially turns to 2016 now is the perfect time to look back at the trends, themes and retailers that defined the last 12 months.

While stories on the latest technology news on Nordstrom, Target, Home Depot, Macy’s, Urban Outfitters, etc. were all trending on RISnews.com this year, it was articles - much like this one - that focused on lists that were among the most popular and best read of the year.
