Neiman Marcus Names New Chief Information Security Officer

Neiman Marcus added its first vice president and chief information security officer (CISO) to its staff in 2014, after suffering a data breach. Sarah Hendrickson departed this June and the retailer has finally found a replacement for the security position.

Shamoun Siddiqui, an information security executive with over 12 years of leadership experience, takes the spot. Siddiqui was most recently the vice president information security and CISO at Nationstar Mortgage, where he led a 22-plus member team in revamping the company’s cyber security and regulatory compliance programs.

He was also previously the  Director Information Security, Sabre Global, Inc. where he led an enterprise wide program to enhance cyber security controls and measures. He’s also held leadership roles at CVS Caremark, Ricoh Printing Solutions, and the Advance Engineering Research Organization.  Siddiqui  holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Neiman Marcus's 2014 data breech affected an estimated 350,000 customers and cost the company $1.6 million in settlement fees, according to Dmagazine. Since that reported breach, the company has suffered at least two other breaches.
