The New Retail Experience: Predictive, Personal, Memorable

By Tim Denman - 01/25/2016
At RetailTechCon 2016, Eugene Roman, SVP & CTO, Canadian Tire will discuss how the retailer has leveraged next-gen digital platforms to grow revenue and support the ever-changing needs of the corporation and its customers. Consumers no longer go shopping, they do shopping wherever and whenever they want. Satisfaction must be instant. And once a shopper experiences outstanding services and conveniences they will expect nothing less.

Cutting-edge retailers like Canadian Tire are searching for ways to reinvent their businesses to meet the rising expectations of today's shoppers. In his opening keynote, Roman will explore how he and his team are accelerating the deployment and use of next-generation digital platforms to meet the evolving marketplace demands.

Roman believes that Canadian Tire's team of highly skilled technologists are a major competitive differential in the delivery of systems of engagement which use the best Internet technologies available today. He sees the future of retail as “e-tail” where smart technologies create new opportunities for innovation and excellence.

He is a frequent speaker on “The Future of Digital Content” and was recently appointed as a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, where he will continue his work in advancing innovation in Canada. He is also an industry professor in Design Engineering at McMaster University.

RetailTechCon 2016 will be held March 30-April 1, at the Ritz Carlton, Orlando, Florida. The conference features keynotes from retail leaders, peer-to-peer exchanges, relationship building, and a golf outing. For more information, to view the full agenda, or to register for the event click here.
