Office Depot and OfficeMax stores are giving customers the gift of time this holiday season.

The retailers have launched a “20 Minute Pickup Promise” at 1,100 Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide. The guarantee promises curbside pickup and in-store pickup of online orders in just 20 minutes. If the stores fail to make that happen, the retailer says it will give shoppers a coupon for $20 off their next qualifying purchase.

To take advantage of the deal, customers simply place a qualifying order online at or via the Office Depot mobile app and select “In-Store or Curbside Pickup” at checkout at least one hour before the store’s closing time. Within 20 minutes from when they place the order, the customer will receive an e-mail that states the order is ready for pick up. For orders not ready in 20 minutes, customers will receive an email with a coupon for $20 off within 48 hours of placing their order.

“We know our customers value convenience and friendly, helpful service, especially during the holiday season, which is a stressful time of the year for many,” said Kevin Moffitt, executive vice president and chief retail officer for Office Depot. “Whether purchasing items to prepare your small business for the holiday rush, upgrading a home office, or thanking a favorite teacher with a holiday gift, our store pickup program is an industry-leading promise to customers to get them what they need in 20 minutes or less.”

Office Depot, LLC, a subsidiary of The ODP Corporation, offers a variety of additional fulfillment services, including same-day delivery; free next-business day delivery when spending $45 or more on qualifying orders; and same-day printing services when the order is placed before 2:00 PM.
