Paul Coby Promoted to CIO of John Lewis Partnership

7/6/2016
John Lewis CIO Paul Coby has been promoted to CIO of the entire John Lewis Partnership. His new role will have him overseeing IT for John Lewis's 47 department stores in the UK and also Waitrose's 349 supermarket branches. He will also be in charge of the company's logistics and supply-chain systems, as well as its warehouse technology, including the company's growing home delivery businesses.

Coby was recently named an RIS News' CIO of Year award winner in the category of Innovation for his ground-breaking implementation of a technology incubator. The awards were presented last month at the 15th Annual Retail Executive Summit in Laguna Beach, California.
John Lewis' organizational structure will not immediately change, but the department stores group will recruit a new IT director in succession to promoted Coby.

The John Lewis Partnership includes broadband, insurance, opticians and foreign currency, as well as the core supermarket chain and department stores group.
