For more on the exciting physical retail spaces that call New York home be sure to check out the “Store Tour: Best Technology Integrated Stores in NYC” at The NRF Big Show 2019.
The virtual store tour will be accompanied by on-stage commentary from Shaye C. Anderson, director of program management, customer experience, Nordstrom and Jeff Halverson, VP, store operations and new store development, Ulta Beauty.
Payless went live with its first-ever holiday pop-up location in New York City. The temporary store, located at 136 W 42nd Avenue, between Times Square and Bryant Park, has a full selection of shoes, handbags, and accessories and will be open throughout the holiday season.
“We wanted to try a new approach and a different store layout to showcase our product offering and better highlight our top brands," said Darren Haddock, senior vice President of retail operations, Payless. "What better place to try out this concept than the hub of holiday shopping excitement, right in the heart of New York."
In addition to the New York location, the company opened eight additional pop-up stores across the country. The temporary locations, many of which are housed in large, open industrial spaces, have a more modern look and feel than traditional Payless brick-and-mortar stores.
"We've got some exciting things going on at Payless, and the pop-ups are just one of the many projects we've been working on," said Sara Couch, head of marketing, Payless. "This is what it looks like when a sixty-year-old company starts to step out of its comfort zone and have a little fun."
Payless invited shoppers to stop by the Times Square pop-up location during the Black Friday weekend to explore the new concept and refuel with complimentary snacks.
