Perry Ellis Boosts Transaction Size 14% with Mobile POS

During the 2013 holiday season Perry Ellis International deployed Starmount's mobile selling and customer engagement solutions to better focus on line-busting, engaging customers throughout the store and completing transactions on mobile devices. The Starmount Engage and Connect solutions were rolled out in 60 Perry Ellis stores, boosting adoption rates and increasing the average transaction amounts for sales conducted with mobile devices.
 
The top Perry Ellis stores conducted up to 16.4% of all transactions on mobile devices, enabling associates to deliver the high level of customer service for which Perry Ellis is renowned. Perry Ellis significantly increased transaction sizes with mobile devices during the holiday season. "Over the 2013 holiday season, our stores experienced an average transaction amount that was 14% higher when using Starmount Engage, compared to traditional POS registers," said Luis Paez, CIO of Perry Ellis International.
 
The retailer will add additional capabilities to its mobile selling solutions, including the ability for associates to access detailed product information. Starmount will also be providing loyalty integration that will allow associates to retrieve customer profiles on mobile devices, enroll new customers in the loyalty program and update customer contact information.
