Pete Gerstberger Named Chief Digital & Strategy Officer at The Honest Company

Pete Gerstberger is joining The Honest Company as chief digital and strategy officer.

Under the role, which takes effect Oct. 4, Gerstberger will lead the clean lifestyle company’s omnichannel strategy, including utilizing its Honest Omni-Analytics technology and insights to drive digital business. He’ll join the executive team and will have a key voice in the company’s strategy, particularly focusing on growth initiatives, licensing, partnerships and category development for the digitally native brand.

Most recently head of Key at Amazon, Gerstberger’s background includes digital strategy and product development, including spearheading initiatives at both Amazon and Ring. In a statement announcing the appointment, The Honest Company pointed to his expereince leading teams in the development, launch and scaling of new technologies and service offerings for consumers.

While at Amazon, Gerstberger was responsible for restructuring and scaling the Key contactless delivery service to more than 50 million Amazon Prime customers. He also previously served as VP and general manager at Ring, where he led the development, launch and management of the company’s Ring Alarm home security system.

“Pete’s extensive experience across the digital, tech and product development disciplines makes him an invaluable addition to the team as we continue to strengthen our omnichannel strategy,” said Nick Vlahos, The Honest Company CEO, in a statement. “At Honest, we’re committed to expanding our reach as the modern CPG company and our digital strategy is an integral part of how we do that.”
