Pick Up Learnings from Power Players

12/16/2010
The coming decade's most dramatic growth will be in global markets, so now is the time to learn from companies that have already achieved success on a global scale. By any measure, Japan-based Aeon Co. and Germany-based Metro Group are international power players in retail. Aeon operates supermarkets, general merchandise and specialty stores in Japan, China and Southeast Asia, and Metro Group operates 2,100 retail outlets in 33 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Moderated by Natalie Berg of Planet Retail, "Power Players in Focus: How to be a Retail Winner" will feature learnings from Dr. Gerd Wolfram, managing director of Metro Systems, and Jerry Black, vice president and an executive officer with Aeon. Black is also CEO for the ASEAN businesses and CEO for Aeon's Internet businesses, responsible for strategy including new formats, market entries, growth strategies and marketing functions. Wolfram was recently named to head Metro's Business Solution Management unit, responsible for the development of software solutions for the company's business processes.
