PMR: Poland's clothing and footwear market growing 15 percent annually

1/13/2009
Recent estimates by publishing, consulting and market research firm PMR suggest that the 2008 retail sales of clothing and footwear in Poland will total PLN 28.8 billion (US $9.9 billion) and improve by 15 percent for the second consecutive year, dating back to 2006.

According to PMR, the Polish market achieved strong growth despite negative inflation affecting the sector. The group reported that, given the rising wages in Poland, and the related greater consumer spending on clothes and shoes as well as retailers' plans to develop their chains, it expects the market to continue to expand at a double-digit rate in the next few years.
