RadioShack Localizes Shopper Strategies on Store-by-Store Basis

9/6/2012
Seeking to incorporate shopper-focused strategies localized to each of its 4,700 stores, RadioShack has extended its right to use cloud-based business marketing solutions that tap into IBM's Smarter Commerce initiative.

RadioShack is currently using a range of solutions from DemandTec, which IBM acquired in December 2011. The software and services include DemandTec Price Management, Price Optimization, Markdown Optimization and Promotion Planning.

"RadioShack is one of the most iconic and enduring brands in the American retail landscape," said IBM Enterprise Marketing Management vice president Yuchun Lee in a statement. "A major contributor to its business has been its foresight to invest in technologies that will inform better strategic merchandising decisions, and best serve their customers."
