Rent the Runway Hires Chief Customer Officer

Rent the Runway, the tech-driven fashion rental company, announces the expansion of its executive team with the appointment of Koda Wang as its first chief customer officer.

"We are so excited to welcome Koda to Rent the Runway as we enter a momentous phase of growth in our business," said Jenn Hyman, CEO and cofounder of Rent the Runway. "Our focus is to continue changing a woman's relationship with her wardrobe by growing our classic rental business and bringing our Unlimited subscription service out of beta and to our 5 million members. Koda's leadership in building global audiences and bias towards action is directly applicable to our goal of expanding Rent the Runway's consumer base and share of the closet."

In his new role, Wang will oversee the end-to-end customer experience at Rent the Runway, leading the marketing, customer service, and business model evolution divisions and reporting to Hyman.

"I am thrilled to join Rent the Runway," said Wang. "This is a company that has made tremendous strides in disrupting the entire retail industry while building out an impressive and sophisticated logistics system and consumer experience. I look forward to helping accelerate the company's success, and in particular, innovating in the way it serves existing customers, reaches new customers, and scales its business model."

Previously, Wang was COO at The Huffington Post, where he oversaw domestic and international priorities across a company of 850 staff. Prior to his role as COO, he was general manager of The Huffington Post's international business, driving the site's global expansion to 15 markets that comprise over half of its overall audience. Prior to HuffPost, he was a consultant at Booz & Company.
