“Currently in entertainment, politics and business, we have seen a lot of negative news about abuse of power by people in leadership positions. At CareerBliss, we feel having a leader who is well respected by their employees is key to happiness and fulfillment in the workplace. So, we have added the CEO approval rating as an important component to our BlissScore,” says Heidi Golledge, CEO and chief happiness officer of CareerBliss.
“The companies and CEOs who have been voted the CareerBliss Happiest Companies for 2018 excel at building a positive and safe work environment. CareerBliss is proud to recognize these companies and their leaders who are leading the way in growing company cultures that thrive,” continues Golledge.
CareerBliss Adviser Bradley Brummel, PhD, and associate professor of psychology at The University of Tulsa, adds, “It is not necessarily a well-known tech company like Google or Amazon that provides the happiest work environment. Companies need to be able to meet employees’ needs across a variety of factors. We find that employees who have a good relationship with their manager and a positive perception of their CEO are more likely to remain happier at their job and stay with the company longer.”
