Retailer Achieves 30 Percent of Monthly Revenue in 2 Days

Armory Survival Gear, a Southern California-based street-wear and events company, is using Trumpia’s SMS text marketing solution as part of its cross-channel promotions strategy to boost in-store traffic and attendance at international dance events.
 
The company routinely orchestrates multi-channel marketing campaigns, whereby it orchestrates its promotions, using SMS marketing and social media sites including Facebook. Besides frequent sales on merchandise, the business also hosts dance-party-style events locally such as the weekly Thursday night Generations party and multiple break dance (Bboy) contests and events monthly such as Freestyle Session, which is held around the world in various locations.
 
One way that the retail business has built its mobile text marketing database is by advertising its mobile keyword on its website, inviting people to text the word “Armory” to 99000 and then receive a mobile coupon for 20 percent off of their purchases.
 
For a competitive edge, the retailer conducted a twist on the traditional Black Friday holiday sales event by holding an additional sale on a different day–  right before Thanksgiving – which it dubbed Black Wednesday.
 
Armory Survival Gear used Trumpia's SMS marketing solution the day before each sale, offering discounts of up to 70 percent to its VIP customers. As a result, the retailer effectively and affordably realized 30 percent of its average monthly revenues in just two days – without the extensive pre-planning activities and expenditures required of traditional advertising campaigns.
 
And by orchestrating a campaign for each of its Freestyle Session events, the company enjoys great success – typically with upwards of 1,000 or more attendees per event. The Thursday night Generations party gets roughly about 300 per week, which fills the event to capacity at U-31 in North Park, the venue where it is held.
