RetailROI Silent Auction Benefits Kids Around the Globe

1/18/2016
While the retail industry assembles at the National Retail Federation's 105th Annual Convention and Expo - Retail's Big Show in New York City, in addition to the usual networking and exploration of technologies and trends impacting their business, they'll also have a chance to participate in a unique charity shopping experience to benefit children in need around the globe.

Show attendees are invited to visit Aptos booth #3504 to visit its "Taking 5th Avenue to the Cloud" experience featuring six store windows merchandised with a wide variety of goods donated by six retailers, which are all cloud customers of Aptos, Inc., (formerly Epicor Retail Solutions). Throughout the convention, attendees can bid on the contents of each window via silent auction to support Retail Orphan Initiative (RetailROI). RetailROI works within the retail industry to raise awareness and provide real solutions for the more than 400 million vulnerable children worldwide.

All auction proceeds will go to RetailROI and in addition, Aptos will match all funds raised through the auction up to $10,000.

"At The Art of Shaving we believe that our success hinges upon our people and the communities in which we do business," said David Sinicrope, senior vice president - retail at The Art of Shaving. "RetailROI gives us the opportunity to give back to the communities in which we serve. Being a sponsor for the silent auction will provide funding for this worthwhile cause and allow us to increase awareness of the enormous needs of orphans worldwide. We are proud to be a sponsor of this year's RetailROI silent auction at NRF."

"We have participated in silent auctions with both RetailROI and Aptos in the past with great results, so it made perfect sense for New Balance to participate in this auction taking place as part of NRF –the industry's largest retail event," said Dave Chaput, business solutions manager at New Balance Athletics, Inc. "RetailROI is unique in that it is a retailer-led charity that actually makes a difference. It's very rewarding to see the passion and involvement of everyone throughout the retail industry, which demonstrates how much they truly care."

"Windsor Fashion has chosen to participate in the RetailROI silent auction because it benefits such a terrific cause," said Robert Sliter, chief operating office for Windsor. "RetailROI keeps us connected to the larger societal issues that impact us as humankind and balanced as we strive to stay up to date with our finger on the pulse of the fast and ever changing retail business."

"Since its inception, RetailROI has raised tens of millions of dollars for a diverse range of projects in 17 countries around the world," said Noel Goggin, Aptos CEO and culture leader. "Social responsibility is a key part of our Aptos culture and we're delighted that we could incorporate this worthy cause into our presence at NRF. Our retailer customers have gone above and beyond the call to donate a wealth of merchandise that is desirable, fashionable and valuable. It is our hope that – along with our commitment to match all monies raised by the silent auction – we collectively can donate a full $20,000 to RetailROI."
