Retail's Coolest Innovative Concepts

03/02/2015
The speed of retail innovation and deployment continues to intensify and only those companies that place a precedent on invention can expect to set the pace.

At RetailTechCon 2015, a panel of three retail visionaries will explore the next frontiers of retailing in the "Retail's Coolest Innovative Concepts" session. They will share how their forward-thinking concepts work and how they help them relate to shoppers in new and more relevant ways. The panel will be hosted by RIS News Senior Editor Tim Denman and will feature:

Dave Ratner, owner, Dave's Soda & Pet Food City. Started in the bays of an empty gas station in 1975, Dave's has grown into a seven superstore chain with over 150 employees. Ratner's creative yet very cost effective marketing strategies have led him to be featured in the Wall St. Journal, New York Times, NRC evening news and many other media outlets.  Dave pioneered the use of database marketing in the pet world and was the first retailer to accept the "LOC" card.

Kate Sekules, founder, Refashioner. Refashioner sells personal collections of vintage and designer clothing, complete with their previous owner's story. The retailer was named a “startup reshaping NYC’s Fashion Industry” (PSFK), InStyle’s Best of the Web 2014, and won Mayor Bloomberg’s PopUpNYC competition for Fashion/Tech companies. Sekules is a consultant, speaker and writer on the rise of “recommerce” and the vintage and pre-owned fashion market.

Cindy Taylor, vice president, information systems, Oxford Industries. Taylor joined Oxford Industries, parent company for lifestyle brands including Tommy Bahama, Lilly Pulitzer and Ben Sherman,  in 2012 as their corporate VP of information systems. In that role she is responsible for enhancing and maintaining corporate applications and enterprise infrastructure to enable business operations globally.  She is building key IT strategies, business partnerships, and continual improvement programs to further align business and IT priorities and position for continued direct-to-consumer business growth.
The 2015 RetailTechCon will be held March 25-27, at the Hyatt Regency, Orlando, Florida. The conference features keynotes from retail leaders, peer-to-peer exchanges, relationship building, and a golf outing. For more information, to view the full agenda, or to register for the event click here.
