7-Eleven Leads in Tap-and-Go Payments

7-Eleven rolls out MasterCard PayPass and American Express ExpressPay contactless payment options using radio frequency (RF) technology. The retailer currently has RF readers installed in 170 test-market 7-Eleven stores and expects to roll out the program in its 5,300 U.S. locations by early 2006.

"As the world's largest convenience retailer, it's a natural decision for 7-Eleven to provide consumers with an even more convenient way to pay," says Rick Updyke, vice president of business development for 7-Eleven. "PayPass enhances our customers' shopping experience by offering speed and convenience when paying at 7-Eleven."
