Staples and Walgreens Use Robots

Both Staples and Walgreens have installed robots from Kiva Systems in their distribution centers. Traditionally, orders from stores to DCs are filled by humans who pick and place products in bins.
The moves were made to alleviate a number of recurring bottleneck issues in the order fulfillment process. Staples is using the robots in its Chambersburg, PA and Denver, CO facilities. Walgreens has implemented them in its Mt. Vernon, IL center
