Talbots Steps up its Merchandising and Inventory Game

09/09/2014
Talbots is upgrading its core merchandising and inventory management systems to streamline processes, reclassify products and centrally manage inventory across channels.

The retailer and direct marketer of women's classic apparel and accessories has selected Mi9 BI, Mi9 Merchant, and Sales Audit with Loss Prevention software products to replace its existing core merchandising and inventory management systems. Talbots chose Mi9 Retail for its advanced business intelligence capabilities that are built into the merchandising platform with a single data repository and easy-to-use interface, as well as its robust integration capabilities with third-party systems, including their order management systems.

“Mi9 Retail’s technology is technically sound, functionally rich and intuitive solution," John Kovac, CIO with Talbots said. "The Mi9 Daybook and Stock Ledger provide the accessibility and granularity of detail that both our merchant and finance teams need to effectively plan and manage our inventory. In addition, we believe that the technology will help us improve our business processes and further enhance the integration of our systems."

Mi9 Retail is a provider of enterprise retail merchandising, business intelligence and store operations software. The company's enterprise-grade merchandising and business intelligence software is available as a single solution. This enables the processing of high volumes of transactions in real-time; optimizes inventory across all channels of the business; provides a single, accurate source of the truth; and reduces the costs to implement and maintain.

“Talbots selection of Mi9 Retail based on our technology validates our belief that Mi9 provides the best solutions for large, multi-channel retailers available on the market," Mike Burge, CEO of Mi9 Retail said. "We are pleased to welcome Talbots as our newest partner and look forward to building this highly strategic partnership."
