Target is expanding a free loyalty program it began testing last April in Dallas.

The program, Target Circle, give shoppers fun surprises, community giving and personalized perks, as well as lets them earn 1% on every trip to redeem later. Now Target will expand the test on Feb. 19. to five more cities: Charlotte, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City and Phoenix.

To join, shoppers in the six test markets simply sign up at, by downloading the Target app, or via phone number as they check out at their local store. The program provides personalization by sending offers to shoppers based on past purchases and birthdays.

“We’re building deeper relationships with guests and serving up the most personalized way to shop Target yet, all while encouraging everyone to choose Target again and again," said Rick Gomez, executive vice president, chief marketing officer and chief digital officer, Target.
