Target Mobile App Updates In-Store Experience

To boost the mobile experience, Target is rolling out a series of updates to the Target app this fall, including location-based and in-store features designed to enhance the in-store experience. The updates include a new weekly ad section that uses the customer's location to provide the weekly deals section at the local Target store.

The weekly ads also link to product pages for more information, to shop the product online or to find the in-store aisle where the product is located. The new section allows customers to view special services or features for each store and connect to Target's Guest Wi-Fi network. In-store Wi-Fi also helps the retailer to determine what kind of content customers are looking for while shopping.

The retailer is also testing a new shopping list feature within its mobile app that allows consumers to add or delete items that are linked to a store. To use the feature, consumers set a store location to create a personalized shopping list. Gesture-based technology, allows the customer to swipe vertically and horizontally to add and remove items.
