Target Vows to Match Competitors Prices Year-Round

1/10/2013
Target will match the prices of online retailers year-round, including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com and Toysrus.com, as well as honoring Target.com pricing in Target stores. The Price Match Policy will combine price adjustment and competitor ad match policies into one policy that includes select online retailers.

"Guests can confidently shop at Target every day for the best value in retail," said Gregg Steinhafel, Target CEO. "We know that our guests often compare prices online. With our new Price Match Policy and the additional 5% savings guests receive when they use their REDcard, Target provides an unbeatable value."

If a customer purchases an item at a Target store, then finds the identical item for less in the next week's Target circular or within seven days on Target.com or its select competitor's sites, Target will match the price. The retailer first began matching select online competitors during the holiday season in 2009 with its Low Price Promise.

Price matches can be requested at Target's Guest Services prior to a purchase with proof of current price or by presenting the original receipt and proof of current purchase.
