1/2/2013
Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations and a Nobel Peace Prize winner, will draw on his decades of experience strengthening international cooperation and global welfare when he delivers his keynote address at the NRF Big Show, "Building Strong Nations: The Three Pillars of a Prosperous Society." Macy's chairman Terry Lundgren will moderate the session on Monday, January 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Javits Center's North Hall.

Annan will shed light on current global social and economic uncertainty and offer wisdom to inspire stronger nations along with a healthier global community. He will also discuss how small and medium-sized businesses have the potential to drive prosperity, and how to engage societies to improve social and economic conditions worldwide.

Annan served two terms as Secretary-General, from 1997 to 2006; he and the U.N. were jointly awarded the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize, with the citation praising his leadership for "bringing new life to the organization."
